Default RA Openings in USA: EE/CS Areas

Hi All,

It takes a lil more time but it does help.

The fact is basically, you can contact any Professor that you like. However, the ones which currently have openings will likely to reply you positively. Then, things will be lots easier, esp. when the two's research interests match. Moreover, if you know any Professor which has openings but does not explicitly announce on his/her website, please also post here.

Thanks very much.

K

Thanks very much.

I am currently looking for two graduate students and if you are talented and enthusiastic, and have also the curiosity and motivation to go through a PhD, then I am looking for you.

I am seeking candidates that are interested in the areas of communications for networking autonomous systems and sensors (body area networks in particular) and in the are of cooperative communications for high speed wireless networks.

Such systems need to be aided by appropriate signal processing and by a data-centric view of networking.

If you are interested in joining my group please send me your CV (having references is a plus) and expect to be interviewed on the phone (we will have to set a date and time).

I will send you some questions, and I would like to check how you think on the phone about technical problems. I also what to ultimately know more about you.

==============
Hiring PhD students as Graduate Research Assistants
My Agent-Mediated Electronic Marketplaces Laboratory is hiring PhD students for Graduate Research Assistant positions.

Read the following info first! Don't send email before reading this.

I am only looking for PhD students. I am currently not hiring students whose goal is the MS or BS degree.
If you have already been accepted to a PhD program in CMU SCS, and you are interested in working with me, send me email to set up an appointment with me. I would be happy to meet with you.
If you have not yet been accepted to a PhD program in CMU SCS, then these instructions apply to you. All graduate admissions for the PhD program go through the CMU department of computer science graduate admissions committee. To apply for a position in my group, apply for the PhD program in the CMU Computer Science Department (CSD). The applications instructions are here. You should write in your Letter of Interest in that application packet that you are interested in working with me specifically. Do NOT send me email to apply. I can do nothing with such email.
The application deadline for the Fall is usually in December or January.
If you are accepted for the Fall, there is a good chance that I can have you start research work in my group a bit earlier, usually any time between May and September.
Earning a PhD in computer science usually takes 4-8 years.
The positions cover tuition and a salary.

Trích:
The database group is looking for PhD students with a strong background in databases and information systems, logic and database theory. Prospective students should have completed coursework in the areas of database systems, operating systems, programming language, software engineering, and courses in mathematics.

For more specific information, please contact Dr. Todd J. Green or Dr. Bertram Ludäscher.

We strongly prefer PDF files or plain text when you send email attachements. We are in particular interested in your background, courses you have taken (including grades), projects you have worked on, and any publications.

Please also note that at this point in time, we cannot make any statements about how many positions for research assistants we will have starting Fall 2010, or whether you might be exactly the right student to join the database group. This all depends on the number and qualification of applicants, and the funding available at that time.

Information about the graduate program can be found here, including:

* Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about admission to the graduate group in computer science
* Degree requirements
